Located at 3795 Vimville Causeyville Road in Meridian, MS, has deep roots in the community dating back over 115 years. The church was founded on October 27, 1907, when 23 members gathered at the Jackson schoolhouse along the road to Causeyville for its first meeting. Brother J.W. Ellis presided over that inaugural service, and just weeks later, Brother Charles Elliott was called as the first pastor, receiving an annual salary of $200.
Early Years and Growth
From its inception, Hebron Baptist Church was a small, community-focused congregation. Over the decades, it has had 28 pastors, with the longest tenure belonging to Brother Tommy Jones, who served nearly 20 years. The church has always emphasized Christian hospitality and support for local schools, particularly in the Southeast region.
